A brief history:
"One of Warsaw's oldest buildings stands at the foot of a hill on Water Street and was built in 1866 for a woolen mill. It was one of the most costly and perfect woolen factories in the entire western country. From 1905 to 1930, Huiskamps of Keokuk opera- ted a shoe factory here. In 1938 the Grant Battery Company began operations in the building. The Grant Division was purchased by the Electric Storage Battery Company, manufacturers of Willard and Exide batteries, in 1939 and the name changed to Electric Storage Battery Company."
